Milan is one of Italy’s most fashionable and culturally important cities and is home to some of the country’s most famous fashion brands. It is also rich in history, art, culture, and beautiful architecture.
One of Milan’s most famous landmarks is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, one of the world’s oldest shopping galleries. Built in the 19th century, the elegant building features a spectacular glass roof, beautiful mosaics, and luxurious shops and restaurants. Nearby is the magnificent Milan Cathedral, or Duomo di Milano, one of the largest and most impressive Gothic cathedrals in the world. Construction of the cathedral began in 1386 and continued for centuries, resulting in the intricate architecture and thousands of statues and decorative details that can be seen today.
Milan is also an important center for art and culture. The city is home to Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting The Last Supper, which can be found in the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie.
