Cradle of Aviation - Long Island’s Air & Space Museum

The museum preserves and celebrates Long Island’s important contributions to aviation and aerospace. Its eight galleries feature more than 75 original aircraft and spacecraft, along with carefully created replicas that showcase the region’s role in the history of flight and space exploration. In addition to its exhibits, the museum offers educational programs that provide visitors with opportunities to learn more about aviation, aerospace technology, and Long Island’s connection to these fields.

This “Spirit of St. Louis” was built in 1928 by Ryan. It is one of two surviving original sister ships and was used in the 1955 movie “The Spirit of St. Louis”.

• The staff are friendly and informative

• Check website for days and hours of operation and any special events or exhibits.

• You could spend a couple of hours to a full day exploring here, depending on you level of interest.

• Tickets can be bought in person or online.
