Located along the tranquil eastern shore of Lake Sunapee in Newbury, New Hampshire, The Fells is one of New England's most remarkable surviving country estates.

I discovered Newport, New Hampshire almost by accident while visiting nearby. Its heart is Main Street, where well-preserved historic buildings and small-town New England character come together in a preserved downtown.

Merchant James Rundlet and his wife Jane built their home in 1807. The home was an urban showplace, filled with all the finest home furnishings and latest innovations of the day.

Downtown Portsmouth is a very walkable historic seaport city. Once one of the nation’s busiest ports and shipbuilding cities and its depth is expressed in the fine architecture. There are significant examples of Colonial, Georgian and Federal style houses, some are now museums.
