Celebrating New York City Since 1923 - Museum Of The City Of New York

The museum is housed in a stately red-brick building on the northern stretch of Fifth Avenue’s Museum Mile, right at the quiet edge of Central Park. Inside, the entrance hall is bright and airy, anchored by a grand staircase that immediately sets a historic tone — elegant but not overwhelming, more like a gracious townhouse than a traditional museum.

Permanent, special, and rotating exhibitions guide you through the city’s layered history, spanning topics such as urban life, culture, social activism, labor movements, civil rights, abolition, fashion, theater, and New York in films. These stories are told through an array of paintings, photographs, drawings, maps, furniture, decorative objects, costumes, toys, ship models, and manuscripts. And be sure not to miss ‘Timescapes’, the museum’s signature film that vividly traces 400 years of New York City’s evolution.

This is what caught my eye - I hope you enjoy!
