The Cornish ruins are a part of the Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve, and offers a glimpse into the past, with the ruins of industrialist Edward Cornish’s 650-acre gilded age estate.

Caleb Smith Preserve contains the historic home of Caleb and his father Daniel Smith II. Caleb, the grandson of Richard “Bull” Smith, and was a member of the New York Assembly and a Suffolk County Judge.

On my visit to Raleigh I wandered through a few historic districts with their amazing historical architecture, two former hospitals, a cemetery and a historical park.

Chincoteague Island is quaint seaside village. It is a short drive to Virginia’s Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, on Assateague Island, where you can see the world-famous Chincoteague Ponies.

Cadillac Mountain is the highest point on the eastern seaboard of the U.S. This mountain is known as the first place in the continental U.S. to see the sunrise.

The Bay of Fundy has phenomenal tides, highest in the world (48 feet) rising and falling twice a day with dramatic views from Hopewell Rocks Provincal Park.
