Home Of The Olympic Museum - Lausanne, Switzerland

Lausanne, Switzerland is a city built on hills—steep ones—so the first impression is always of sweeping views. Perched above Lake Geneva, the city spills down in terraces, each level offering another postcard moment: rooftops layered like an old European painting, the lake shimmering below, and the French Alps rising sharply on the far side.

Lausanne feels youthful and creative. It’s home to a major university, the International Olympic Committee, and a vibrant arts and café culture that gives the city an energy all its own.

The Old Town winds through narrow streets and medieval buildings, with staircases climbing up from the lake and the Gothic Lausanne Cathedral standing watch over it all. Its towers are visible from nearly every angle, a reminder of the city’s deep roots.

Down in the lakefront neighborhood of Ouchy, the rhythm shifts entirely. Palms fringe the promenade, boats rock lazily in the harbor, and the air feels almost Mediterranean—soft, bright, and unhurried.

Lausanne is a city of layers: historic at the top, lively in the middle, and serene by the lake. It’s energetic yet relaxed, cultured yet casual. And whether you’re climbing its hills or drifting along its waterfront, Lausanne rewards you with views that make every step worth it.

This is what caught my eye - I hope you enjoy!
